ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fall Roadside Cleanup:  Paul Schemanski let us know that the fall road cleanup is September 24th. Meet at Walloon Lake Marine Center at 8:30 a.m. Paul is requesting 16 workers and only 6 have signed up so far. Sign up is on the website at this: Link

PRCCI Grant Cycle:  Steve Brown let us know that the Grant Cycle for Petoskey Rotary Club Charities, Inc. is open and applications are due by 10/19. Application can be found on the home page of www.petoskeyrotary.org

Pedaling for Polio:  John Scholten, with his hand out, let us know that Pedaling for Polio will be 9/17. We will meet behind D&W for a ride to Knot Just a Bar and back

Also John Scholten and Kent Cartwright will be participating in the Louisville Ironman. He may learn how to pronounce it correctly by the time he gets there, and they will be taking sponsors for the ride portion of the event with money raised going towards Pedaling for Polio. There will be more info forthcoming

Calendar Sales:  Jeff Bodette let us know that Calendars will be ready next week. Be sure to pick yours up at the meeting and get selling

Rotary Storage:  We will be moving out of our current storage space on Saturday the 24th of September and into temporary space at a school facility. Lots of hands make light and quick work

Nomination:  Dave Thomas was nominated by Gary Baxter and Seconded by Steve Brummeler to be on the ballot for District Governor for the 2019/20 year. Vote was unanimous

PROGRAM

Doug Caldwell was the program today and led us on another field trip to the News Review and gave us an awesome tour and description of some of the wide variety of activities they handle there. Thank you Doug Caldwell!

Next Week’s Program:  Elizabeth Del Buono will be presenting on the health consequences of climate change. Should be an interesting topic
