Other Visitors: We had many visitors along with many of presenters from Career Day
Life Events: BJ Shawn is doing well and preparing for her next round of treatments. Jane sent around a signup sheet for meals. If you did not get a chance to sign up give Jane a call
Bill Collins let us know that the latest scans for his grandson have come back clean. What a blessing for this young man and his family
Song of the Week: Steve Cross and Howard Richards led us in “Stodola Pumpa” or as Steve phrased it; “Herb’s Irish Blessing” (he wasn’t even there to enjoy it)
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Crooked Tree Arts Center School of Ballet: Liz Ahrens, in a follow up to the program on Ballet from Crooked Tree let us know that the 2 girls are doing very well Amanda in European Ballet competitions and Olivia studying this summer in New York. Also if you want to see more ballet closer to home Grand Rapids, contact Liz about a trip they have planned
Community Marathon: Jim Harrington let us know that the 2nd Annual Top of Michigan Trails Council Community Marathon will be May 27th. We had a team and supported an aid station last year. I am sure we can do the same this year
Rotary Board Meeting: Kent let us know that at the board meeting they put the final touches on the Strategic plan and approved $6000 for the DECA program at the High School. This group is sending a record number of students to nationals. We have many awesome students in our school system and it is great when we are able to support them
Program:
Christian introduced Charlie MacInnis, Chairman of the Emmet County Board of Commissioners and the only incumbent to be re-elected this past year. Charlie gave us an over view of what is going on at the county and some of the changes they have put in place with the new board
