Today’s presentation was by Lorraine Manary, Executive Director, Char-Em United Way. This is the 75th Anniversary of United Way in Emmet & Charlevoix County.  Lorraine told us of United Way’s help with ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) members of our community. Approximately 30% of our citizens fall in to this category. Education, basic needs, and bridge loans are often needed.  Eight business are being sought to fund/support an initiative to hire a “Success Coach” that will assist the businesses with HR issues. Two have signed on to participate. This has proven very successful in other communities. The 2-1-1 Help hotline was also discussed

Next Week’s Speaker:  Club Assembly
