Birthdays:  Robert Rogier, Peter Olson and Gary Fedus had birthdays this week, as well as President Bob Waldvogel and he was the only one in attendance, so we sang to him

Announcements:

Roadside Cleanup:  Tim Kaufman let us know that Roadside Cleanup was a soggy success with 15 Rotarians helping out. Great to have all the help, made for quick work

Ride for Polio:  June 16th.

Jump for Polio:  June 3rd Bill Collins and Jane Millar will be joining this group to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Please give money to the cause

Marathon Aide Station:  Jeff Wynder let us know they are still looking for help at the Marathon Aide station on May 26th. See Jeff for details

Taste of Bay Harbor:  Chris Etienne let us know about the Taste of Bay Harbor going on this next week

Change of Venue:  We will be moving back to the Bay View Inn on June 6th. and officers exchange will be June 27th. at the Perry starting at 6 pm. That will be our meeting that week

Next Wednesday May 30th. Please arrive by 11:45 am for a group picture that will be included with a card for Bob Maldegan’s birthday

Diamonds & Denim Kick Off:  Reg Smith let us know that there is a Diamonds & Denim kickoff meeting on Thursday the 24th beginning at 5:30 in the Noggin Room

Fellow Member:  Neal Bidwell had surgery and is recovering in Ann Arbor. Keep him in your prayers

Fellow Member:  Bill Collins gave us an update on his grandson. There have been some changes and if you would like more details speak with Bill

PROGRAM:

Christian Smith and Kassia Perpich came up and introduced the big Senior scholarship winners from this year’s Strive Awards 

Most Improved Grade Point Average – 1-year scholarship to North Central Michigan College (value of $3,500) - Kainani Kalilimoku whose mentor was Katie Winslow. She improved her GPA 1.28

2nd Most Improved Grade Point Average – Tatiana Duarte-Martinez $1500 scholarship and her mentor was Donna Stein. She improved her GPA 1.05

Stafford's Hospitality Award to Emily Hibbler whose mentor was Nikki LaDeur

T.J. Reeves Memorial Award to Heather Dufek whose mentor was Chris Etienne

Christian Smith also thanked all the mentors and host businesses for this year’s program and a special thank you to Stafford’s for hosting and sponsoring the year end banquet

Diamonds & Denim 2018

T Jones introduced Dave Zechman and Patrick Schulte from the Hospital and the Foundation who gave us an over view of the $175 million expansion and Renovation to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital. They are also our partner in Diamonds and Denim this year
