Petoskey Rotary Noon Club NEWSLETTER

January 16, 2019

Andre Strydom, (our substitute piano player for a while), led us in America the Beautiful

Four Way Test:  Liz Ahrens

Invocation:  Christian Smith (even with his pained walk)

I have only just a minute

I have only just a minute,
Only sixty seconds in it.

Forced upon me, can’t refuse it.

Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it.

But it’s up to me

to use it.

I must suffer if I lose it.

Give account if I abuse it.

Just a tiny little minute,

but eternity is in it.

Dr. Benjamin E. Mays

Singing/Song:  Andre Strydom, the accompanist for Emmanuel Episcopal Church and many other endeavors, sounds like he could do a good program, led us in Smile. This was just to get his feet wet and I am sure there will be more in coming weeks as he is with us

Calendar Winners:  President Steve Cross called on Walt Byers, even though we thought retired Doug Caldwell was going to be our full-time calendar reader, read this week’s winners: Link

John Scholten, in a switch from his asking for money, let us know that he will be retiring as Petoskey Schools Superintendent as of June 30th. He thanked the club for all our support not only for him but the school district and assured us that there will still be a chance to lighten our wallets before he is done. Thanks John you have been a great asset to our schools and your leadership will be missed. You are leaving the district even better than it was when you started 14 years ago
