Installation of District Governor Dave Thomas:  Liz Ahrens spoke about Dave Thomas being inducted at Crooked Tree Arts Center on June 19th, 2019 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Excellent speaker and the public is invited. Click the following Link for registration

Big Water Creative Arts:  Georgia Abbott let us know about a Cocktail Party for Big Water Creative Arts on June 8. Go to bigwatercreativearts@gmail.com for more information or to get tickets

Habitat for Humanity:  Stuart Fenton spoke of a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity on June 27 called; “Raise the Roof” at Stafford’s Perry Hotel. They are doing 4 houses this year and 5-6 next year. Tickets are $40.00 and available here

YMCA fundraiser:  Leah Callan let us know about a YMCA fundraiser on June 21 at Gabrielle Farms. Check the YMCA website for details: Link

Alzheimer’s Walk:  Melissa Thompson asks us to check out Alzheimer’s/Dementia website to sign up for the Alzheimer’s walk on September 14: Link

Officers Exchange:  Jim Beno made the announcement that the Officer’s Exchange Dinner will be June 26 at The Perry Hotel. Cost will be $38.00 per person; cash bar and hors d'oeuvres on the Veranda at 6:00 pm and inside for program at 7:00 pm. Sign up sheet will continue to go around for the next few weeks. Please see the ending of the newsletter for the flyer associated with the event. Once you are signed up, unless you cancel out by getting in touch with Jim, you are on the hook for the cost of the event

June 12 Meeting:  Roger Winslow let us know that the meeting on June 12 will be held at the Crooked Lake Yacht Club. Box lunches will be provided, and Crooked lake tours will be available. The club house is located next to Windjammer Marina 3708 US 31, Oden. If you would like to ride your bike to next week’s meeting members will be meeting at Spring Lake Park at 11:15 am

John Scholten Announcements: John Scholten let us know that there will be an open house on 6/20 for his retirement at the Spitler Administration Building 1130 Howard Street, Petoskey, MI from 2:00 – 6:00 pm

He will be running in the TC Triathlon on August 25. He is raising money for Prostate cancer.  If you would like to support him, he will be accepting donations

John then introduced Jodi Rogier and Susan Naback with Girls Running on the Bay. This is a Club at the elementary schools for girls that not only promotes exercise but good choices. We supported this program

President’s Report:  President Steve Cross let us know that we will be moving back to the Bay View Inn on July 3. Hopefully the construction will be done by then

He also let us know that the meetings on June 19 will be District Governor Dave’s installation; Link; and June 26 will be the Officers Exchange night

Steve read us a note from BJ.  She thanked us for all the letters and cards. She is feeling better but not strong enough to attend lunch

Program:  Steve Cross introduced Carlin Smith who gave us a quick program celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Petoskey Chamber of Commerce

Vegan/vegetarian Entrée: Mediterranean Linguine with garlic, shallot, kalamata olive, artichoke, spinach, roasted tomato with white wine mixed with feta.

Dessert: Trio of mini sweets, lemon bar, cheesecake & chocolate truffle & coffee or tea.
