Patriotic Song: Howard Richards was not here so we recited the Pledge of Allegiance
4-Way Test: Ashley DeCarteret
Invocation: Becky Philip Kranig
PHS Paladins Robotics Team made it to the State Championship this year and it was held last weekend at Saginaw Valley State University. I heard one of the opening ceremony speakers say something that stuck with me about doing good. He said it was a mantra he had hanging on his wall.
I assume it's based on the Theodore Roosevelt quote:
“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
But it takes it a step further:
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, and all the ways you can, in all the places you can, to all the people you can, at all the times you can, for as long as you can.”

PROGRAM: Cab Behan Harvey Mental Health Services in Nursing Homes
Today we were joined by Cab Behan-Harvey from North Country Community Mental Health (NCCMH).
NCCMH operates under provisions of the Michigan Mental Health Code for the purpose of providing mental health services to residents of Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Kalkaska, and Otsego Counties. NCCMH serves adults with serious mental illness, persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, children with serious emotional disturbance, and persons with co-occurring substance use disorders in all six counties. NCCMH also serves community members by providing 24/7 mental health crisis intervention services and assuring local access, organizing, and integrating the provision of services by coordinating care, implementing public policy, ensuring interagency collaboration, and preserving the public interest.
Ms. Behan-Harvey described NCCMH's Older Adult Services Program.
The Older Adult Services program provides mental health treatment to older adults with Serious Mental Illness and/or Intellectual/Developmental Disability who reside in a skilled nursing facility.
NCCMH staff assess the level of care needs for the older adult population who may need to transition to either a higher or less intensive level of care such as long-term care, foster care setting or home. This may include a review of the skilled nursing facility resident’s need for and response to behavioral health treatment, along with consultations with facility staff.
