PROGRAM:
Northmen Den Youth Pantries-Kathy Peterson
They manage 14 dens and about 500 kids each Friday (Pellston and Alanson are the biggest dens).  Their inventory warehouse is in their offices.  They received $29,000 worth of food from food drives last year and spent $160,000 total on food.  They have 60 plus volunteers.
They received close to $80,000 from local Rotaries over the last 8 years.  Liz McKen-ney is now the Administrative Office Manager.  Briannaca, a former 7th grader who came to the pantry, was their first paid staff since opening in 2016.  She is the Youth Pantries Coordinator.
They feel their pantries are a safe place for kids and they don’t just come for the food but also because the volunteers care about them.  The volunteers believe in the kids dreams.
