Petoskey Rotary Noon Club NEWSLETTER

101 Years of Service Above Self

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Petoskey. President Jeff Wynder officiated the meeting. If you did not get the chance to attend, you can read about it from this newsletter.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Rotary, we understand that cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture is essential to realizing our vision of a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.

We value diversity and celebrate the contributions of people of all backgrounds, across age, ethnicity, race, color, disability, learning style, religion, faith, socioeconomic status, culture, marital status, languages spoken, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity as well as differences in ideas, thoughts, values, and beliefs.

Recognizing that individuals from certain groups have historically experienced barriers to membership, participation, and leadership, we commit to advancing equity in all aspects of Rotary, including in our community partnerships, so that each person has the necessary access to resources, opportunities, networks, and support to thrive.

We believe that all people hold visible and invisible qualities that inherently make them unique, and we strive to create an inclusive culture where each person knows they are valued and belong.

In line with our value of integrity, we are committed to being honest and transparent about where we are in our DEI journey as an organization, and to continuing to learn and do better.

PROGRAM  Karen Ragland – Calendar Launch

It is calendar time! Special “thank you” to those who volunteered to pull winners, package calendars, and record & track information.

Each member is required to sell 10 calendars ($250). The funds and ticket stubs must be turned in by the end of 2022. When you pick your calendars you will receive a transfer sheet, flyer with selling tips, and labels.

WE NEED YOU! We’re asking each member to sell 1 – 2 additional calendars to make up a difference from last year. If you need additional calendars please contact Karen Ragland at (734) 320-0424. Jim Beno is challenging our club to sell 2,000 calendars.

Why do we sell calendars? This project supports many of your favorite local programs including:

Petoskey Education Foundation

Little Traverse Crop Walk

Alzheimer’s Association

Manna Food Bank

Teacher of the year

Leadership camp

Scholarships

International projects

Calendars help us raise $25,000 each year! Over the past years we have been able to give nearly $1,000,000 back to our community.

Next Week’s Program:  Ryan Bachelor – Director of Pellston Airport

Two-Week Notification:  Marie Klopf was approved for acceptance to the Rotary Club of Petoskey by a special board vote which occurred by email. This is the first of her two-week notification for the club.
