“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career; I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

International Insight:  Rotary’s campaign, PolioPlus, does more than eradicate polio.  Social and health services provided in conjunction with the vaccine administration bring additional benefits to the communities they serve.  For example, a 2010 study estimated that the vitamin A drops given to children at the same time as the polio vaccine, prevented 1.25 million deaths by decreasing susceptibility to infectious diseases.

PROGRAM Caroline Barlow, Bliss Fest

This week, we welcomed Caroline Barlow, Artistic Director from Blissfest Music Organization, who shared insights into the vibrant work of this local cultural treasure. Bliss-fest, known for its annual music festival, is more than just a celebration of diverse sounds; it's a year-round effort to promote the arts and foster community connections.
Caroline spoke about the organization's dedication to preserving folk, roots, and Americana music, while also offering educational programs and performance opportunities for aspiring and established artists alike. She highlighted the impact Blissfest has on our local community and the enrichment of Northern Michigan's cultural fabric.
With their unique venue in Harbor Springs and a passionate team of staff and over 1,000 volunteers, Blissfest continues to be a beacon for music lovers and a hub for artistic expression. Caroline left us inspired by the power of music to unite, uplift, and create lasting memories for generations to come. Happy Bliss!  https://blissfest.org/
