International Insight:  Rotary is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, create a better world, support our peace efforts, and end polio forever.

Visiting Rotarians:  Gary Voison, Cheboygan; Suzanne Perry, Sunrise Rotary and speaker, Sarah George, Sunrise Rotary

Guests:  Liz Eddington

Life Events:

It is with very sad regret to inform the club that Jim Kan has passed away. Long time and founding member of the Sunrise Rotary Club, Jim Kan has touched the lives of Petoskey school band members and color guard for decades, the spirit of adventurers with travel guidance, and the community at large with his contagious smile. At the moment, plans for Jim's tribute event on Saturday are continuing. A funeral will be held at a later time. Please carry prayers and warm thoughts for Jim's wife Deb and his son Dennis and the rest of the family. And hugs to those of you in Rotary who were such good friends with Jim.  We will miss our friend dearly.

Birthdays:

Kendall Klinglesmith

Anniversaries:

Liz Ahrens – 17 Years

Terry Newton – 26 Years

Bill Graham – 40 Years

Singing/Song:  Andre Strydom is still AWOL so we sang Smile. Dogs were heard to be howling all the way to Harbor Springs.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Club Notification:  Reg Smith gave a timeline that we require a March 1st letter of interest from agencies interested in how our funds will be used. On March 5th there will be a Board Meeting at 5:30 pm in the Perry Hotel Board room to discuss the proposals and vote on the winning project.

Public Relations:  We need your content for Social Media! We are an exciting, dynamic, and diverse club and our members do some pretty cool stuff. We want the world to know what we’re up to! If you’d like us to share your upcoming events, promotions, sales, accomplishments, awards, life events, social activities, and campaigns (non-political, non-denominational only please) please send the information to Andrea Coronado at acoronado@watershedcouncil.org or via Facebook messenger. Please include a summary, any applicable links, and an image if you have one.

Don’t be like Sarah Ulrich! After sending out this email blast earlier she immediately sent content to Terry Newton to post. Sarah gets an absolute A+ for effort. Smoke was coming out of Terry’s computer as her content slammed into his computer with record speed. His computer almost flew off the table at the Perry while the noon Rotary club was meeting. Please send your content to Andrea Coronado.

Spaghetti Dinner:  Mamma Mia! It’s time for the 72nd annual Spaghetti Dinner. Save the date for April 18, 5 – 7 PM at Petoskey High School. Every Rotarian is asked to volunteer that day—from slinging spaghetti and working the ticket table, to washing dishes and cleaning up, there’s plenty of fun to go around. Sponsorships are available and we ask for your support to make this event a roaring success. There is still time to join the Spaghetti Dinner Committee – contact Drew Smith or Karen Ragland to learn more.

Service Club Signs:  The two service club signs that greet travelers on both ends of town will be removed this year and replaced with a more generic sign without the service club emblems, but will have information on how to learn more about our area’s service clubs.

Rotary Foundation:  Jane Millar encouraged members to buy a ticket for the District 6290 50/50 Rotary Foundation. Get your Rotary Foundation raffle tickets from Jane Millar. Tickets are $20 and split the prizes among five winners.

Save the Date:  Save the Date for Career Day at Petoskey Public High School on Wednesday, March 13. Rotarians will be called upon to represent their professions again this year.

PROGRAM:  Suzanne Perry on Artificial Intelligence

We had the pleasure of hosting Suzanne Perry for an enlightening presentation on the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence and Chat GPT! Suzanne delved into the intricate workings of AI and its revolutionary impact on various aspects of our lives. From enhancing productivity to transforming communication, her insights were truly eye-opening. The discussion on Chat GPT was particularly engaging! Suzanne showcased how this advanced technology is reshaping the way we interact and seek information online. It was incredible to witness firsthand how AI can mimic human conversation with such precision and depth. Thank you, Suzanne Perry, for sharing your expertise with us! Your presentation was both informative and thought-provoking, leaving us inspired about the limitless possibilities AI holds for the future. **Generated by Chat GPT, prompted and fact-checked by Andrea Coronado**
