We met at Manna for a little service project

Four Way Test:  Thank you Neil Bidwell

Invocation:  Thank you Melissa Thompson

Manna Gifts

“Earthly goods are given to be used, not to be collected. In the wilderness God gave Israel the manna every day, and they had no need to worry about food and drink. Indeed, if they kept any of the manna over until the next day, it went bad. In the same way, the disciple must receive his portion for God every day. If he stores it up as a permanent possession, he spoils not only the gift, but himself as well, for he sets his heart on accumulated wealth, and makes it a barrier between himself and God. Where our treasure is, there is our trust, our security, our consolation and our God. Hoarding is idolatry.”  Author:  ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship

Paul Schemanski:  Highway pick up will be this Saturday the 16. Meet at Walloon Lake Village Marina service dept. on the highway

Tim Dykstra:  Habitat work day will be May 7th. Tim has forms that need to be filled out and they are on line. One is a letter from Habitat for Humanity and the other is a waiver that needs to be signed and given to Tim Dykstra prior to the event so that he can get them to Habitat for Humanity. More hands make easier work. We will be working at Lantern Walk in Alanson and putting up siding

Dave Thomas:  District Conference is in Muskegon and President Dave will be making a presentation. The conference is April 22-24. Be sure to sign up if you want to attend

The District also still has the 500 point match for a $500.00 donation to the foundation and you will be able to award a Paul Harris Fellow. See Chris or Dave if you are interested. This program runs through May 15

Deb Noblett gave us a quick over view of what Manna is and does before we got to work.  We had 4 groups working packing and labeling juice, pudding and apple sauce and one other group packed food boxes for Church of Christ.  It was a great meeting and as always Manna appreciated all the help

Next Week’s Program:  Tim Dykstra will be presenting on STRIVE and will bring some of the mentees to share their experiences with STRIVE and how it has helped them achieve educational goals
