Andre Strydom led us in America the Beautiful

Four Way Test:  Greg Somers

Invocation:  Leah Calllan

My dear,

In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.

In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.

In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.

I realized, through it all, that…

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.

And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.

Truly yours
Albert Camus, The Stranger

Singing/Song:  Andre Strydom led us in “Smile” and “Happy Birthday” (for Melissa Thompson)

Spaghetti Dinner:  Happening Thursday, February 20. Mike Snyder is about to begin assigning volunteer roles. This dinner is an all-hands-on-deck event for our club! If you cannot attend, please contact Mike ASAP. Otherwise he will communicate your assignment shortly.

Program:  Chad McDonald and Kathy Wilde, Foster Care Regional Resource Team of Northern Lower Michigan. This is administered through a grant with Wellspring Lutheran Services which takes care of 21 counties of Northern Michigan. Chad is responsible for vetting and picking the foster care parents in Northern Michigan. Foster care is working with over 13,000 kids and there are over 300 who are looking for forever homes. Much of this recent need is being fueled by the opiate problem where parents have lost parental rights because of abuse and neglect. A lot of these kids have been traumatized and there are frequent special needs. You can look at some of the children up for adoption at: Link
