Saturday, August 15: Northmen Food Den – Adult Prom Masquerade
Hosted by Rotarian Liz McKenney
Join the Northmen Food Den for Adult Prom: Masquerade on Saturday, August 15 at the Grand Unity Event Center in Petoskey from 5:00 to 11:00 PM. This fun evening invites guests to relive the magic of prom with grown-up flair and includes signature cocktails, appetizers and a buffet dinner by Sweetwater Catering, a live auction, photo booth, and Prom King and Queen voting. Proceeds support the Northmen Den Youth Pantries.

PROGRAM: Megan DeWindt – Bay View Association
Bay view isn’t just a summer destination. It’s one of northern Michigan's largest cultural and educational profits and is one of less than 20 remaining Chautauqua communities.
All programming is open to the public. Bay View is simultaneously is a nonprofit organization, a national historic landmark district, a membership association, a performing arts center, a seasonal educational institution, a recreation facility, a place of worship, a summer day camp, and a property management organization. Bay View has 4 main program areas: education, recreation, performing arts, and worship.

Fun Facts
It takes about 30 days to open and 30 days to close Bay View each season.
There are:
2 independently owned inns
2 gift shops
2 museums
Library with over 2,000 volumes
Historical Archives
Music Conservatory - one of the longest running music conservatories in the nation
Bay View is/has:
Governed by a 9-person board of trustees, including Rotarian Walt Byers as President
16 year-round staff members
4 program directors work year-round
150 seasonal staff members
960 lease holding and associate members - the longest running family has been here for 8 generations.
Bay View Cottage Owners:
Bay View owns the land; leaseholders own the cottage and lease the land. Lease holders can occupy their cottages May 1 - November 1.
Leaseholders also pay a Chatauqua Fee that supports Bay View programming.
Last fun fact - it takes almost 2 weeks to tune Bay View’s 53 on-site pianos!
