Rotary Club of Petoskey Offsite Meeting at Evelyn Hall, Bay View
Wednesday, June 10 | Noon–1:00 p.m.Executive Director Megan DeWindt will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the Bay View Association, sharing its history, mission, and the work happening behind the scenes to preserve and enhance this unique Northern Michigan institution. Following lunch and the presentation, members are welcome to stay for optional walking tours of the Bay View campus. Lunch Provided by Little Bay Gourmet to include a gourmet salad bar with grilled chicken and fresh rolls. Register Here by June 8th!

June 24th will mark Andrea Coronado’s final luncheon as President of the club. This will be our Officer’s Exchange Luncheon. You may bring guests. Link

Saturday, August 15: Northmen Food Den – Adult Prom Masquerade
Hosted by Rotarian Liz McKenney
Join the Northmen Food Den for Adult Prom: Masquerade on Saturday, August 15 at the Grand Unity Event Center in Petoskey from 5:00 to 11:00 PM. This fun evening invites guests to relive the magic of prom with grown-up flair and includes signature cocktails, appetizers and a buffet dinner by Sweetwater Catering, a live auction, photo booth, and Prom King and Queen voting. Proceeds support the Northmen Den Youth Pantries.

PROGRAM:  Rico Breznav, NCMC, Dental Hygiene Program

North Central Michigan College (NCMC) in Petoskey offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Hygiene. Designed as a three-year degree pathway, the program features a competitive application process, accepts a cohort of 15 students each year, and includes a fully operational teaching and patient-care community clinic. 

Program Structure & Requirements

• Pathway: The program is a three-year sequence. The first year consists of general education and introductory dental courses, while the subsequent two years focus on advanced classroom and clinical instruction.
• Capacity: Cohorts are strictly limited to 15 students per year.
• Licensure: Graduates are fully prepared and eligible to take the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE) and the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) clinical exam to earn a Michigan dental hygiene license.

Admissions & Application Details

• Competitiveness: Because of the strict cohort limit, the application process is highly competitive, and the college anticipates a program waitlist.
• Prerequisites: Successful applicants typically need a strong high school foundation in science courses like biology and chemistry, as well as required general education college credits before entering the core dental courses.

Community Clinic

The program includes a proposed 12,000-square-foot instructional and patient-care clinic. In addition to providing hands-on training for students, the facility will be open to the public to provide preventive dental services at reduced rates, ultimately helping ease the region's dentist and hygienist shortages.

We are lucky to have such a forward thinking, progressive college who is working to train a workforce that deals with local demands and needs.
