PROGRAM:  Art Tebo (History of Boyne Resorts)

Longtime Boyne USA veteran Art Tebo gave a captivating talk about the rich history of Boyne USA and its significant impact on Northern Michigan. With over 50 years of experience at the resort, Art shared behind-the-scenes stories of how Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands was founded and grew from a small ski operation into a premier year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Art highlighted the visionary leadership of Boyne USA founder Everett Kircher, who pioneered innovations like the world’s first triple chairlift and helped establish Northern Michigan as a top-tier tourism destination. He also shared insight into how their efforts and connections helped inspire the Pure Michigan tourism campaign we know today.

Through his stories, Art gave a glimpse into the challenges, triumphs, and the community spirit that has driven Boyne USA’s success and made it a cornerstone of Northern Michigan’s economy. His talk was an inspiring reflection on how vision and hard work have shaped both the resort and the region.
